For reasons of nicety (towards the other Marketman visitors), I shall post my reply here. Yes, it was the longest period I’ve been away. I was able to find really decent lodgings in successive towns/cities in Southern Brazil. I stayed with a bakery owning family in a city noted all over Brazil for their pastry. Most of this are egg-yolk based. I learned and needless to mention, ate plenty. Another was with a third generation Japanese family tending a fruit orchard so I had a chance to show-off my (self-appraised) skills in turning out apple pies and tarts. I even had a chance in leading a taichichuan group in yet another city. As it turned out back home, it was a blessing because this winter turned out to be one of the most punishing in recent memory.

    • Good to hear from you again. I sort of abandoned this blog for the lack of will to post regularly but I might just do random posts soon.
